Energy and the US

I watch some of the news about the oil spill every day, I just want to see what works and what does not work.  I hear about blowout preventers and containment domesand how they work and do not work.  I have seen people say lets just collapse the well, others say no.  I see the arguments over how much oil is being spilled and how much the president is doing about it.

I have to say Obama can not snap his fingers and it will all go away, he can only do so much.  As much as I hate to see the oil on the beaches and in the water we need the offshore drilling to keep us going.  I would love to have an electric car, solar powered house, or a wind powered home. However I can not afford $101,000 for the car and the 100’s of thousands of dollars for the other two.  Until we can easily get the “green” options we are kinda screwed.  We need the oil companies to get us that precious crude.  I will say this right now if the electric car price drops down to say $25,000 I’ll be first in line to trade in my Explorer.

Think about that people before you complain about oil drilling and wanting everyone to be eco conscious, Can the average person afford to be “Green”?  I know I can’t afford that lifestyle.  I barley work part time, how will I pay for the good stuff?
